What are humates?
Our raw humates are extracted from Victoria, Australia.
The humates from this mine are from carbon rich brown coals and contain higher amounts of fulvic compounds relative to most other humate sources.
What humates can do for you...
- Increase plant growth, sugar content and yields
- Healthier soils through increased levels of humus, humic and fulvic acids and soil organic matter
- Beneficial environment impact through reduced leaching of nitrogen compounds and increased soil retention of CO2
- Improve effectiveness and lower fertiliser requirements, reducing fertiliser costs for farmers and growers
- Increase water holding capacity
- Act as a facility to increase plant uptake of the cations iron, zinc, copper and manganese
- Promote root growth through deeper soil depths, increasing nutrient capture capacity
- Increase activity of microorganisms, improving the health of soils and making more nutrients available to plants
- Serve as an adsorption and retention complex for inorganic plant nutrients.
- Act as a source of nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulphur for plants and microorganisms
- Improve transportation of key minerals, making them more readily available to plant roots
- Improve soil structure, aeration and water holding capacity
Key points from the TED talk:
- The higher the humus levels in soil, the less the need for chemical intervention.
- Humus is the primary vehicle for mineral storage and delivery in the soil, greatly improving the nutritional value of food.
- 1% increase in organic matter (humus) means soil can hold an additional 170,000 litres of water per hectar.
